What parents love about me
Parents value my ability to connect with children giving them boundaries without being restrictive to their need to explore and experiment appropriate to their age.I like to give comprehensive feedback on our day in a timely manner. I like to laugh and have a keen sense of humour. I value outdoor explorative play, going to the library, and quiet craft activities, games and story telling. I have a keen sense of fun that I share with children. Parents also value my feedback as accurate and timely as to the progress of their children.
What kids love about me
Kids are very comfortable being with me. I am very much a surrogate "nan" and enjoy giving kids a lap to sit on, and a hug when needed. I am creative and pride myself on the variety of activities that I can engage kids in. I sing constantly, and am adept at making up songs on the spot. I don't try to be something I'm not, so kids feel comfortable with who I am. We love to laugh, without being out of control. When necessary, quiet time reading books or playing games together is also shared times we enjoy.
What I love about this work
Following a career in teaching that spans over three decades, my love of children hasn't diminished. I am looking forward to continue "my career" with increased flexibility and scope.
