AVAILABLE AT SHORT NOTICE

I am available when you want some care and assistance for your family as a casual babysitter on a regular basis. Even if Its to get the weekly shop done, or get dinner or that time out with friends for a coffee.

As an experienced Nanny - family 5 yrs, and 4 years with my current family as a nanny. I have been a CCSP for 10 years.

YOUR BOOKINGS
As a babysitter/long stay childcare service provider, I can work with your families needs on an ongoing basis or one off positions.

* Requests for babysitting in November/ December are recommended to be booked in advance; as it is wedding season and Christmas functions leading to NYE.

So who is the favorite character this week, Peppa Pig or Thomas the Tank engine? And is broccoli still yucky, or peas? It's always something green...

I encourage you to ask questions & discuss how I can serve your family needs first.
To make your child comfortable with a new person, I like them to ask any kinds of questions! Having worked as a Pastoral Support Care worker with junior and older children; I feel that my attention to a child's curiosity and development is part of my role.

I understand every child is different in personality, creativiy, individual needs and enjoy giving them encouragement to be exactly who they are.

MENTORING AND THE ARTS - BALLET
I am listed with the CID & enjoy my Student Mentoring role and Mentorship Training Program Developer and volunteer pastoral care Facilitator for students in high school.

I'm proud to offer adolescent ballet dancers particular care in development and I offer mentoring for children.

I currently have been with a family for nearly 4 years, watching their little one grow up from baby to toddler to little guy. Being able to participate in his learning experience and care for his changing needs as he's grown is very special. To contribute to his learning experience and social development is something that I am proud to be a part of.

YOUR KIDS NEEDS -
Along with their needs, concerns, safety, well-being, I try to stick to the family routine to help settle them in with a 'new person' as their sitter or nanny.

BEDTIME
Settling kids down comfortably for a "make it up together "bedtime story when I am babysitting helps to get the kids to sleep.

I have worked inhouse or on extended bookings, to remain with the children for extended periods in their home, or location. During holiday season I babysit at the accommodation, hotel, apartment and so on.

FOR MUM AND DAD -

My role is to work with Parents and children's needs being a sitter in the home environment; respecting and following the usual routine and activities, keeping in touch with parents.
Some parents like to know when their children are asleep with a quick text message.

I always send the parents a photo of their children through out the day to reassure them that their children are in good hands & great care, and giving them an opportunity to show 'Mum or Dad' what they have been up to!

ABOUT ME - I am 49 years old single and live in the city.
I have my WWCC Certificate & police clearance at National Government security level.
My interests include improv, mentoring for teens,
writing poetry and painting whatever ends up on the canvas! I have been acting in film and theatre, initially training & acting in Australia & London.

Im currently working as a nanny on a casual basis and the family is happy to also accept reference requests.

I like to "think outside the box" For example when I assisted a Spanish family (with 10 months and 2 years old) in last minute/urgent bookings - including children's evening routine. I do not speak Spanish, so found putting a Netflix movie on TV in Spanish helped settle bubs fall asleep for naps - so I'm learning all the time what helps families individually.

I love to set tasks as games that get children motivated about things such as before bed "Can you really do brushing your teeth and brushing your hair and don't get them mixed up?" "Wow, can you show me how you can do this?"

YOUR CHILD -
I am able to attend to a babysitting routine or one-off positions.
Engaging a child's attention for homework, I follow a family's meal, bath and bed routine; and please outline any cultural and spiritual needs for the family.
Knowing any special names for pets, essential toys names & for example fruit (once a 2YB who kept calling for 'Mandy' - he was wanting mandarines). If we work together we will work it out!
I understand every child is different in personality, traits, and special needs that require personal attention.
I am patient and encourage the child to focus on 1 thing at a time if that works for them.
If there are medical needs please inform me of your set plans to assist the child eg Epipen for allergies.
I always assess a situation if I see something not quite right, will follow the set protocol and identifying the risks. I always contact the parent 1st and call on emergency services if needed - this has occurred once with an illness and it was the right action to take.

EXPERIENCE
Nanny position - nearly 4 years, ongoing basis, now 4yr old boy.
Nanny position - 3 children (all under 9), on set days. All duties were attended to including homework, child activity, meals, bath, bed
Nanny - 8 months old boy, 3 year old girl, during transition of parent returning to work full-time.

BABYSITTING - With long distance traveled to Adelaide. This parent has rebooked me due to the several hour's drive, she trusts that her children are close by, rather than quite a long distance away with another carer.

BABYSITTING -

3Wk old and 2 yr old evenings casual
10yr old, 1 year, ongoing casual basis
3 children 2 year ongoing casual basis

6 week G at my home whilst M was needing to go away. Overnight stay, M stayed the night at my home as she lives in Kadina. I have known M for 11 years & watched her grow up, with servicing her parents with 4 children. I would stay at the family home, parents would be there after work. I have happily remained good friends with M & D with this family, & with the 4 C.

BABYSITTING - both with 2C at my home and the 2C family home. Required overnight stays at the C home.

BABYSITTING AND NANNY - on request whilst 3G and 12 months B, unwell for childcare and attending to the children at the family home. I always update the parents by text to let them know how things are going,

BABYSITTING - for 2 families whilst all 4 parents were in the Army based in Edinburgh, so I would look after 2B, 2G children whilst all 4 parents could have a social night once or twice a month.

CARING IN EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES Once at a red light and noticed a young person wandering around for help, was blue in the face, and close to collapsing. Initially, I thought it was a drug overdose and I was very wrong. They could barely say "can't breathe" (I am realistic and firstly protect myself) I got them into the car and took them to the hospital pronto, with their head between their knees, they were a dead weight when I got to the emergency dept. I grabbed a doctor in a coat who went into immediate action. She required 'the chargers" twice to be revived. I didn't even know their name.
About 10 minutes later the doctor told me that if I had arrived 2 minutes later she would be dead on arrival; and unable to be revived having suffered an extremely rare and severe asthma attack. We remain friends for several years now.
