Hello, I'd love to introduce myself to you. I've worked with children and families for twenty five years, including working in long day care settings, Occasional care childcare, kindergartens, after school care programs and holiday programs and in families homes as a nanny and babysitter, including living and working as an Au Pair in Chicago for twelve months.

I'm energetic, flexible, punctual, warm, friendly, kind, hard working, a great listener and communicator and truly enjoy working with children and families and watching children grow and develop and being a part of this.

My hobbies are singing, I love to eat healthily and exercise on a very regular basis :)

My main beliefs in terms of working with children is that the parents are the first teachers in a child's life and consistency of care is important to continue therefore I work with the parents in this way, eg keeping to children's routines, and maintaining particular (kind and firm) boundaries etc

I am also keen to provide activities and experiences that are educational and that are connected to their interests, for example one child I care for enjoys going on nature walks and picking up pine cones and autumn leaves and brings them home and uses the materials to paint with them and make interesting art work on paper.

Another example is one child likes to sing and do action movement songs, and I bring my iPod with children's songs on it and we enjoy dancing and singing to her favorite songs :)
