Experienced, Qualified, Hygienic, Reliable, Professional Nanny Sought to Care for our Energetic, Intelligent, Sensitive and Fun Little Man
Our son is super bright and has boundless energy to explore the world. He is curious about everything! We have been treasuring stimulating his curiosity and teaching him about everything that interests him, as well as trying to instill values like kindness for all beings, being gentle (he is super strong), respecting others and being grounded by Nature and our connection to the natural world. He has a great vocabulary and is learning to relay his emotions and slowly learning to navigate the big feelings little people have at this age.
We are a household of 3 and because we had our son when we were 40, our parents are not able to help as much as we need. Our extended family also lives far from here. We don't have our son in any type of day care as we have chosen not to vaccinate. Some days, we feel like we have less energy than he needs us to keep up with! We are quite a spiritual household, but definitely, not religious. I have my own online school and my husband works full time in IT. We both work from home in a separate area of the house. The nannying would take place in our home.
We have had three nannies since our little man was young and each has brought wonderful skills and gifts to him, through their experience and knowledge. We are now looking for Nanny number 4, hoping that this time we get someone who has a situation that allows them to be a longer influence in our son's life.
Our perfect Nanny would be university qualified in something to do with teaching or childcare. They must have first aid and working with kids check. We live right in Coffs Harbour and although there will most likely be no driving our son around, a license would be preferred. We are not interested in training someone new at nannying. We don't want someone with just babysitting experience. We want someone who can be the perfect fit for our family, because they have loads of nannying experience, in how to fit into the family routines and ways of being. We also require someone who can keep our son safe at all times, whilst still letting him explore without restrictions, wherever it is safe to do so.
We let our son dictate the play, but the perfect nanny would also be consistent with helping us to reinforce our values with our son, in a caring and loving manner. We do not hit our son, ever. We also try to see all behaviour as communication and try and dissolve surface level bad behaviours into real understanding of greater issues. The right person would be vital, able to play, run around and engage our son, with as much enthusiasm as he offers in return.
Covid-19 is the reason why we stopped having a nanny for nearly the last near year. We are concerned about having someone in our home space, as we do have ailing relatives that visit often and others in our direct circle who would definitely be high risk and could die, should they contract the virus. It is for this reason we must add a new criteria to our nannying job description. The ideal person would have the same (perhaps over the top?) care we have for hygiene. We are probably more careful than others and do things like sanitise hands and wipe down benches after post packages have been touched or online shopping enters. We don't see anyone with any sickness symptoms. We run ionisers when visitors enter, only have people over that are also being careful as we are and work from home or are taking great care. We sanitise hands every single time we get home and the house is cleaned with sanitiser every single week. We do not want a nanny that has another job where they are in contact with lots of children and perhaps parents, like a child care centre or someone who is actively working at a school or shopping centre.
We are looking for someone who can come along for one half day a week to start and hopefully, once our son is comfortable, can do a full day or two, maybe with the occasional extra couple of hours one night for us to have a rare date night!
