I am a Diploma qualified educator with over 10 years experience working with children, and over 4 years experience in a daycare setting.
I am a Diploma qualified educator, and have been involved in a number of community programs since I was 17; I was involved in the 'Kids Hope' program, was a Joey Scout leader for 2 years, I volunteered for a missions trip to a Philippines orphanage, and I am a leader at a local youth group. I have been working in a daycare setting for over 4 years, and would now like to work more closely with families, and spend more one-on-one time teaching a smaller number of children.
I am no stranger to poopy nappies or the general mess that children get themselves into. I encourage sensible messy play, and use these experiences to teach self expression, self control, boundaries and responsibility. I role model positive behaviour at all times. For example: When cleaning, I will allow the child to assist in their own way if they show interest. Just giving them a piece of paper towel (with no cleaner on it!) will allow them to copy my actions and learn co-ordination, routines and responsibility.
During my experience in childcare, I have become accustomed to working with many children at once. The demand on my time and skills can be high, but I prioritise my time and use the available resources to ensure that each child is safe, nurtured, and thriving.
I am an educator for children, but I am also a friend.
Childcare is my job, but it is also my passion.

Emily is a warm, confident, highly-organised sitter who displayed a professional maturity well beyond her age. Because of Emily's extensive local connections in the Sale area she went over and above our expectations when she helped organise a safe play and rest area and 2 other local qualified carers to look after over 15 kids aged 18 months to 7 years on a Saturday for 6 hours. She sent photo updates of our kids eating, playing and resting allowing the parents to enjoy a weekend day off around Sale. After a thorough search on this an other sitter websites Emily was a clear standout. I'm now planning another family trip to Sale because I know I can rely on Emily's outstanding support.

What parents love about me
I have a kind personality, and I am genuinely interested in building a relationship with children and parents. I offer professional advice- for example, toileting strategies!
I also work with the family's routine and values
What kids love about me
I love to take the children exploring! Whether it be just to the shops, or out for a bush walk, I'm keen for all types of adventure. I encourage children to build on their own interests so they become in charge of their own learning. They love trains? Great! Let's do some counting while we're at it! Maybe a visit to a train station may also be in order...
I love coming up with new ideas for play. You can make a game out of just about anything, you know...
I do love a good laugh!
What I love about this work
I just love watching the kids grow in their learning, and seeing how far they've come. I love playing with the children and listening to the interesting things they say! I also love teaching the children new things in creative ways.
I love to watch the awe in their faces as they discover the world around them.
