I have plenty of babysitting (and petsitting) experience, having worked as a full-time nanny in a four-child household for the majority of last year (children aged 3/4, 5, 7 and occasionally cared for the family's newborn). My daily responsibilities included waking the kids up and making beds together, making/supervising breakfast, lunch and dinners, brushing teeth and getting dressed, bath time, visits to public parks and libraries, school and extra curricular activity drop off/pick up, play time, arts and crafts - you name it! I've also done the classic date night babysitting etc., which is more the speed of work I'm after at the moment.
I have all relevant checks (WWVP, WWCC, police check, first aid, CPR) and a driver's license + car. I live in Downer, though my family home is in Nicholls. What parents love about me
I am a reliable and bubbly carer. I am responsible and calm-headed, and always approach new or difficult situations positively and openly. I believe that communication is key and keep parents updated via text throughout the night. Plus, I'm always around for a chat!
What kids love about me
I like to approach activities creatively... and make "boring" things (such as brushing teeth) fun! It's important to me to make sure the children I work with feel heard, safe and accepted, so I make an effort to really connect and bond with the kids I babysit.
What I love about this work
I had reasonable experience babysitting before becoming a nanny last year, but really discovered my passion for childcare when I threw myself into the deep end (haha!). Watching these little people grow and figure out the world is so rewarding. Knowing that I'm making a difference in people's lives and partly guiding these kids through life, even just a little bit, is what brings so much joy into this work.
