I am 23 years old and here in Australia on a working holiday visa! I have 8 plus years working as a babysitter/Nanny for children of varying ages! I am a fun, loving social young woman who has a passion for children! This fall I will returning to the U.S to continue my education within the field of psychology! In five years time, I will be a doctor of psychology with a specialization in children. Therefore,I will offer your children and family a unique type of care because I understand the importance of interactive and stimulating play and activities. I am CPR certified and can provide you with the proper documentation. Most recently, I have nannied for the Gibson family. Over the the past three years, I have watched their youngest daughter (now three) grow up and it has been remarkable to experience her developments. Last winter their son was born and I began watching him at the age of three months. Prior the Gibsons, I worked for the Platt family and cared for three children ages, 11, 9 and 6! Throughout my teens I watched and cared for many families and received much of my work through word of mouth! For both the Gibson's and the Platt's I cooked meals and tidied up their homes. I can make an array of healthy, nutritious meals for both you and your children:) As for hobbies, I love to travel! During my third year of University I studied in the UK for five months and traveled around Europe, and now I am in Australia and truly loving this part of the world! As, mentioned, I am planning on attaining my doctorate in clinical psychology, so I consider psychology to be one of my hobbies! I am also an avid runner and reader!

What parents love about me
Due to studying psychology, I have a different understanding of what it takes to provide children with necessary, stimulating activities. Parents have always complimented my ability to keep children engaged in creative ways without relying on tablets or tv. I am always on time, and genuinely love children. I also, know how to cook healthy delicious meals! I also, have experience tidying up homes!
What kids love about me
Having worked with children for 8+ years, I have learned that it is important to always give children "options" and I think this strategy has always made me their "favorite" babysitter. In giving them the opportunity to have some say, the child feels less inclined to act out and the environment remains peaceful and calm. However, children are children and I have experience with handling "melt downs" however, I always manage to develop a strong rapport with children, so stressful situations are handled with ease. Children, love my creative side, I will often come in with new games to play or arts and crafts to make. I tend to play music to maintain a positive happy environment!
What I love about this work
What don't I love about providing childcare? Children are my passion, I am planning on directing my career as a clinical psychologist towards this specific population. I love being apart of a child's developmental process and knowing that as a caretaker I have had an influence! Children innately are remarkably resilient, funny and loving!
