My name is Emma, I am a 25 year old Interior Design student and I have just over 10 years of experience as a Nanny and Babysitter. I am currently looking for a family in need of Part-Time care for their little ones (15-20hrs/week)
I spent my childhood growing up in Costa Rica, and from ages 11-21 I lived in Canada. This gave me the opportunity to grow up bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English, so if teaching your little ones a second language is in your interests, you're in luck!

What parents love about me
I take pride in having strong communication skills, I'm not afraid to ask questions, if I don't get a lot of time to speak with parents at the end of a shift I leave a detailed note about my day with their little ones, I am easily reachable and reliable.
In the past I've been told by families that they highly admire my ability to just allow kids to be kids. I'm not afraid of a big mess if it means encouraging creativity, discovery and self-expression, activities such as Jumping in puddles after a rainy day or finger-painting that turns into face-painting, playing with mud.. A mess can always be cleaned up, but we can't re-live a fun childhood!
What kids love about me
Something I used to love as a young child was meeting adults who treated me like a person and didn't underestimate my abilities to understand or do things simply for being a kid.
I take this into account when I'm caring for little ones. Children and infants are smarter than a lot of people realize and it's not something I ever underestimate. I really enjoy giving children the opportunity to problem-solve, explore and develop their skills so they can grow to be confident and independent human beings. I truly believe that's a major reason children enjoy my company.
What I love about this work
Something I absolutely adore about this job is basically getting to be a kid again. Aside from the responsibilities and hard work that comes with it of course, being able to play games, kick balls around, fly kites, watch Disney movies, and get messy is the best way to allow my inner-child to flourish as I grow older.
Another one of my favorite things about this job is the relationships I build with the children and their families. I've been lucky enough to have an incredible bond with the families I have worked with. Getting invited to holiday parties and birthday parties is always such a special thing, getting photo and video updates of the little ones reaching new milestones, sending and receiving letters from the families I left back in Canada, and visiting previous families after some time of not seeing them is always really heartwarming.
