My passion is post partum and newborn care. I completed my doula training in 2016 and have been drawn to support families in those early months after welcoming a newborn into the family. I welcome arrangements for post partum newborn support, child care/support/structure of routines, as and when required in local Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay & surrounding areas. One off and irregular flexible sits welcome, as are longer sits in the daytime, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Also 24/7 child care in home or travel with the family, is available by arrangement.

I am a happy, friendly, confident, very sensible, organised person, with a professional yet practical approach, taking pride in my work, and care of your family, tidy and particular about cleanliness. An awareness of, and commitment to, healthy nutrition, possessing outstanding communication skills, a practical person with a big dose of common sense, integrity, firm yet nurturing boundaries when working with children, so that they feel secure in my care.

I have a Police Check, WWCC, current references from local families with children newborn and upwards. A current First Aid including anaphylaxis. Experience with all ages ~ loving and gentle with a consistent approach enabling children to feel secure and safe in my care while parents take some special time out. NOTE that you are welcome to pencil in bookings to be confirmed closer to the date required.

I am in my 60's, eldest of 4, Mum to a gorgeous adult son, and have a very flexible schedule at the moment. Clean living, non-smoker. A Jill of all trades and I love working with people and engaging with the littlies, as well as supporting families with personal tips from my own child care and teaching experiences, to modify behaviour and routines, returning a sense of balance to daily life with our precious children. I have a tool box of skills and felt to share my knowledge.

I am reliable, conscientious, resourceful, motivated, enthusiastic, patient, a big heart, open, communicative, caring and giving in nature. I have the maturity to work autonomously, notice what needs to be done and follow through to completion, the ability to encourage the children to take responsibility age appropriately, do homework and chores. I will contribute to the culture of mutual respect within your family and am lovely to have around. I will pick up and pack up after/with the children, and am also willing to take care of light household clearing & tidying if required as a second priority to the care of your children.

In the post partum role I support parents in feeling confident with their new role, act as an extra set of hands to assist with baby changing and settling, distracting and soothing while Mum has some baby free time to rest, recuperate, nourish her physical body. I will prepare simple healthy meals, ensure Mum is taking care of her needs, prepare cups of tea/coffee and undertake light household duties such as washing and kitchen. Share wisdom as requested. I am the ideal Mum or Mum in law when you are without family support, or require more support than is available if family are local.

Background : I have an extensive corporate background in administration, customer service and sales, as well as being a University graduatein 2001 and post grad 2006 in Adult Education & communication. My previous role was as an ESL Teacher (BAED, Grad Dip TESOL) and I worked casually at UNSW Language Institute for 7+ years until 2011. I was predominantly a stay at home Mum and I always had children at home while their parents worked, but was for love not pay. I did Nanny when in London in 1989/90 and in Sydney/Hawaii for 6 months in 1990, as well as extensive after school care and evening babysitting. I am also an energetic healer, an AIRBNB host, and studying the last couple of years 2011 - 2013, taking time for travel and simply relaxing.

I live in Clovelly, have my own car and a clean driving record.
