I am a 26 year old British geography and Sociology graduate looking for a job starting asap as a nanny/babysitter. My passion for working with children stemmed from my brother having muscular dystrophy. My passion for working with children stemmed from my brother having muscular dystrophy. When I was old enough to do work experience at secondary school, I volunteered for a week at the same special needs school which he himself went to. I realised that I wanted to help those less fortunate lead the best life possible and after one week of work experience I continued to volunteer there for two years. I worked with a range of students including physical disabilities, autistic children and children with down syndrome. My other experience with children is: working as a personal 1:1 with an autistic boy at after school club, looking after disabled children at camps, and helping to tutor, mentor and support children with disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds at a volunteer scheme at university.

Most recently, I have followed the route of TEFL teaching due to a strong passion in travelling. Being a TEFL teacher has enabled me to work with children of several nationalities and varied cultures and customs. Whilst also teaching TEFL, I used to work at camps where I led other activities such as sports and arts and crafts. Through teaching TEFL- especially my experience in Spain, Italy and Ecuador - it helped me to come to the realisation how great I was with younger children in particular. Other babysitting opportunities and extended family of babies and toddlers both here in Australia and back home in England only heightened this. I really believe this is where my strength and passions lie. Described as having a 'joie de vie', I believe I match the qualities required to work with any family with young children. Due to my experiences working with disabled children, and children where English was not their first language, it has taught me great communication and patience. I have the energy to occupy children who can be a handful and able to provide boundaries when required. I absolutely love the active life, and it is something I strongly encourage at a young age. I love singing songs, playing games and sports, going swimming and doing something to make the most out of every day. I am also volunteer blue card qualified: 1864499/1 (25/11/22 expiry), police checked and first aid qualified.


I have strong family values and I imagine the bond between nanny and children to be much greater than I have had i the past simply as a teacher. This is the most important aspect as a nanny and the ability to connect with the children. Children say and do the most interesting and funniest things and just being round them every day and watching them learn and grow is something I love the most.
