Though I majored in Animal Sciences, I've always aspired to be a teacher. This led me to my work as a learning support assistant and eventually a tutor for students with mild learning conditions in an agricultural college. Here, I supported students with both visual and hearing impairments, ASD, ADHD, epilepsy and difficult home backgrounds. I enabled them to access the curriculum including tutoring maths, practical lessons of animal management, and leading life skills lessons that aided independence for the students. I stepped down from my position to adapt to my change in family circumstances and my stepmom becoming ill. I took up tutoring and providing childcare to multiple families to work around taking my stepmom to appointments and supporting my family. After my stepmother recovered, I came out travelling to Australia, working as an Au Pair for 3 months with Sole responsibility of 3 children under 5 Years old. When continuing my travels with my best friend, we ended up delivering her baby, unbeknownst to us that she was even pregnant the entire time we'd travelled! With my experience in childcare and my passion to care and support others, I supported and co-raised little Harry whilst we waited for Covid-19 to ease and his passport to arrive. Now they are finally ready to head home, I'd love to offer my passion and experience to continue my career in childcare at home. I'm currently based in Brisbane City 4000 and am a reliable and adaptable individual. I've references, a Blue Card valid until 2022 and a police check. I am also paediatric first aid and CPR trained with some knowledge of BSL sign language and have undertaken seminars to improve my communication and understanding of the needs of individuals with different learning abilities.
