Since I moved from Jakarta to Sydney in 2007, I have been caring for children from newborn up to 12 years of age since 2008. During my time working at long day care, kinders, and out of school hours care I kept finding myself drawn towards a closer relationship with families through nanny and babysitting roles.
It warms my heart to say that, even to this day, I still hear from families whose children I cared for. They were babies and are now all grown up! I just absolutely love being a part of a family and making a positive impact on the children's lives.
Jumping in puddles on rainy days equipped with raincoat and gumboots whilst reciting 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'.... Mixing leaves, flowers and water to make magic potion.... Hearing the little ones say my name for the first time.... Reading 'Possum Magic' and seeing the smile on a child's face as if it was their first time hearing it again.... The list goes on!
With two of my nephews living in Sweden and another two nephews+one niece being 4 hours away in Wangaratta, I would just love to develop that sense of belonging and be able to provide that family-like support to families in Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and Surfcoast.
